In ono of tho closest contested elections elec-tions of years Mr. Vcrn Peterson of tho class of 1913 was elected to thg presidency of the student body of tho Agricultural collego last Friday, defeating de-feating Hobcr Reunion by tho Btunll number of 20 votes, Mr. L. A. Richardson Rich-ardson coming third. Tho poll of votes was very heavy, It being stated by prominent students thnt fully 90 per cent of tho student body cnBt their ballots. Tho outcome of tho contest was not decided until ths last vote was counted ns during tho counting count-ing tho two rlvnl candidates nltornat-. nltornat-. cd repeatedly, first ono occupying tho advnntago and then the other. Tho other officers elected wero Miss Anna Mathlson (utinnlmously) as vice pres idont, Miss Dolln Morrcll as secretary ot tho student body. Tho executive committees were elected ns follows, receiving re-ceiving voles in tho order named : El-1 El-1 mcr Urossnrd', Gordon Klrby and Ed- I Holmgren. Brassard polled tho highest high-est vote tor this position. John Pence was elected (unanimously) editor ot : "Student Llfo'' to Biicceed Lon J Haddock Had-dock who declined tho nomination ten ' dorcd him last week. Mr. Mark Green wns elected mnnager of debating, Al fred Calno theatrical manager, Prank Spencer track mnnngcr, Uryaut Mar-' Mar-' tlnenu baseball manager, Mr. Ray ( Smith manager of tho basket ball team.
