Show KEEPING FLOWERS FRESH. When one has carried a bouquet cl tlowers In tho hand upon reaching homo they are generally found to be wilted. To freshen them, dip them for an Instant In hot water, and havo teady a bowl, or a vase containing told wuter, tc which has been added a bit of charcoal the size of a dime. If the (lowers are violets, add halt a teat-poonful of sugar to the hot water, wa-ter, In which they aro first dipped. In winter tt flower or flowers can be kept fresh a very long time by cutting cut-ting o.f a small piece ot the stem each morning and placing In hot wuter, wu-ter, to which has been added a pinch of salt.
