Show Newton . Notes. NEWTON, May 28 A farewell party par-ty was given last Friday night In honor of Brother Henry Barker who goes to fill a mission to England. The house was filled to its fullest capacity. A very interesting program was first rendered and then dancing was enjoyed. enjoy-ed. The Newton baseball team went to Lewlston Saturday to , play ball with the Lewlston team over which they came out victorious, the score being 5 to 4. The receht seasonable rains have done wonders for the farmers. The wheat Is looking fine and If the wind keeps blowing as It has the past few days we Intend to have more rain. Mrs. S. P. Peterson has returned home after a short visit in Salt Lake with her mother, Mrs. Bowers. Mr. James Nellson Is back home after af-ter being In Alexander, Idaho, the past two months on his farm. He reports re-ports that the crops there are looking fine. Miss Clara Monahau, of Salt Lake City, has gone to Fielding to visit her sister, Mrs. Dan Gam, after spending a few days with friends In Newton. |
