When Actor Offered Pawn Ticket In Exchange for Coat Check. In his "Reminiscences and Hoflec-tlons," Hoflec-tlons," Sir John Hare, tho eminent English actor, recalls an anecdote of Leigh Murray, his Instructor. Murray was, at tho time of tho story, playing at tho Adolphl theater In London, when his old friend, Sims Roovos, was about to make his flrst appearance In opera at Drury lano. Murray was playing tho part of an Impecunious young "swell" who was very hard up, and carried as a property in the play a pawn ticket, which roplaccd his watch In his coat pocket. As Murray appeared on tho scono In evening dress, ho thought It obviously unnecessary unnec-essary to change befora adjourning to Drury lane, and deposited his hat and coat In tho cloakroom thcro on arrival, ar-rival, la coming out, however. Instead In-stead of handing tho attendant tho numbered ticket he had received, ho brought out unconsciously ,from his waistcoat pockot tho pawn tlckot he used on the stage, and gavo It with a lordly air to tho astonished attendant, much to his own mortification when his attention was drawn to it. - $5 Reward The above reward will bo paid by this ofllce for information leading to the arrest and conviction of any per-' son seen taking the "Logan Republl-can"from Republl-can"from the doors and yards of regular regu-lar subscribers.
