Show A Mormon in the Danish Rigstag. A member of the Mormon church, a Mr. Samuelsen, has been elected to the lower house of the Danish Klgs-d.tg Klgs-d.tg (the law-making assembly of the counlm Mr. Samuelsen Is, politically, politic-ally, a Social Dcmocrat.aillliatingwlth the moderate wing of the party, lie is a machinist not politically and has previously been a member of the city council In Aarhus, the second largest city In the country lie had great support from the railroad men of his district; but was opposed by the the ministers of the SJate church. There wcru more railroad men than preachers, however, and that is one reason why ho was elected. Mr. Samuelsen Sam-uelsen lias visited Utah, and is looked upon as a very able man by his acquaintances ac-quaintances here, as lie is by the people peo-ple of his own country. He will have the distinction of being the first Mormon Mor-mon elected to the national legislature of any country, outside of the 7niteri States Exchange. |
