Tho Salt Lake Real Estate Ass'n, which first stirred up the trouble is going go-ing right after the scalp of tho trust according to its 'ntest declaration de-claration which follows s An Open Letter to the Sau Lake Public: The time has come for notion. The Salt Lake Real Estate association asso-ciation is ready. Our relation with the opposition to tho high cost of living in Salt Lake was not primarily by intention. Wo 'get into the discussion through a combination of eircumstances,but being in we are willing to stay in to the end of effort and the law. We now offer our services as an organization to the people of Salt Lake in the general defense against the assaults of trusts, whatever their name and whatever what-ever their unlawful practices. We are ready to stand for the people against commercial rapacity rap-acity and greed. We offer to lead a movement against every unlawful combination combina-tion for the restraint of competition compet-ition in tho sale of foodstuffs, coal, hay, grain, building mater-ials, mater-ials, and every other commodity necessary to give comfort ot the community or protect it from hunger and cold. Wo propose to put to the test the laws of Utah. ' W epropose to put to the test the officers charged by law with their enforcement. Wo propose to have it determined determ-ined speedily whether the people of Salt Lake shall continue to be the victims' of unlawful combinations combina-tions in restraint of trade , or shall be free therefrom and have the benefit of honest competition in the purchase of thq necessaries of life. We propose to have it determined determ-ined whether the growth and development de-velopment of this city shall .be retarded and prevented by an organization of the greedy and rapacious. To this end: The Salt Lake Real Estate association, as-sociation, which stands for a greater city nnd for the happiness happin-ess and prosperity of all its people, peo-ple, pror -e to raise a fund of $10,000, wherewith to employ eminent special counsel and secure se-cure evidence to bring about the destruction by law of every trust operating in this city and state to the detriment of tho people. peo-ple. Tho association hereby heads this subscription with $500' and invites contribution to tho fund in sums of 5 cents and upwards. It is the purpose to expend this sum faithfully and intelligently to the accomplishment of the desired de-sired pnd,and, that there may bo no question of tho honesty of our pupose, to invite the co-operation in its expenditure of thrco rep-resentativ rep-resentativ ecitizens, to be named n,t a mass meeting hereafter by this association to be called.
