Show Wm. Thompson Thomp-son is Killed Struck by Train at Cache Junction. Tho news comes from Cache Junction Junc-tion that Will Thompson, of Clarks-ton, Clarks-ton, was killed there by the branch train about '2 o'clock. Mr. Thompson was walking on the main line about forty feet nortli of tho depot, not knowing that the branch train wus switching. He was struck ' anil instantly in-stantly killed by the train as it backed up. One foot was cut oil, but as Tin: Rkpahliuan gets it lie was not mangled otherwise. How It Happened. At live o'clock it was Impossible to get full particulars, but It Is known that Mr. Thompson drove over from Clarkstou and that at the tlmo of the accident his team was hitched in the vicinity. Presumably, he was walking walk-ing the track to cross It further down. Conductor Scott, who was at the side of the track saw the danger of Thompson Thomp-son and yelled at him, but it seems that he did not hear. The train crew cither did not see Thompson or were unable to stop the train and his death resulted. At live o'clock a coroner's Jury was In session. Mr. Thompson was a son of Joseph Thompson, and a nephew of "Jack" Thompson. He was about .'to years of age and leaves a wife and four children. child-ren. The deceased Is the gentleman who was struck by lightning last July. The accident Is a terrible one, and what the family must suffer can hardly hard-ly I c measured. |
