They consulted the Mayor, City Engineer, and streets committee of the Ogden council, were accorded courteous consideration, and at the j,, council meting Monday evening were 0f granted the uso of "an eighteen-ton steam roller at no cost to Logan other than the freight to and from Ogden The freight on an eighteen-ton roller rol-ler would run up rather high, but Messrs. Stevens and McNIel went to Salt Lake Monday and asked the O. S. L. oillcials for a special rate In this instance and the same was granted. The committee says that the Ogden oillcials, one and all, seemed anxious to be of service, showing a decided sympathetic spirit, all of which is deeply appreciated. The 0.. L. peo ple were baldly less kuirily and Messrs Stevens and McNIel have warm words of praise for them. It is expected that the lollci will reach Logan today and will be put to work on the street. This stretch of street has received only a llrst coat of ciushed gravel, and this will be wet and rolled It Is expected that a layer or two of crushed limestone or large boulders will be placed on top of that already down. The work is all In the hands of City Knglnecr Hansen, who asked for and was granted the entire responsibility |
