Show Utahns In New York Correspondent Tells Of The Happy Gatherings; Gather-ings; Festivities and Other News. Utahns In New York, Deaurul Neivs Sunday Some friends of President and Mrs McQuarric met at their homo one evening last week and had a most enjoyable time. Several surprises were In store for the company, and chief among them were the two recitations re-citations given by Mrs. A. L. Farroll, who completely charmed her audience by her artistic work. There are few professionals who could surpass her first poem in the intelligence and beauty of Itu rendition. Songs by A. L. Farrcll, R. C. Easton and Elder Howard were much appreciated. Miss Phyllis Thatcher, who, unfortunately unfor-tunately for her admirers here, neglected neg-lected to bring her violin with her from her home In Logan, has oecn much censured by all, as her playing, both on the violin and piano, has been a source of greatdcllght to her friends. She has had to do double duty Ion tho piano since coming hero. The Logan party Mrs. Dave Thomas and children, chil-dren, Miss Thatcher and Mr. and Mrs , Farrcll has been doing a great amount of sight seeing in the last few j weeks. West Point was visited Sat-i Sat-i uidav; tho theatres have been ' thoroughly seen, and all near resorts re-sorts given a glance,.so that they return re-turn with the knowledge of having lucd every moment while heio profitably. profit-ably. Miss Rlanclic Thomas, who leaves for homo Tuesday, May 2.2, will stay a week In Chicago visiting her aunt, Mrs. Chislett, and family, and a'week In Kansas City, also visiting relatives and friends before reaching Utah. Friday morning Dr. W. R. Parkinson, Parkin-son, of Logan, who has been In New I York nearly six weeks, taking a post graduate eouise, left foi his home, business of an important nature making It Imperative for him to take his departure a few days beforo his intended time for leaving. The doctor has met with every courtesy In in the different hospitals he engaged in and returns to Utah well piepared to meet any critical test that may arise in his professional line; he also met several medical men of prominence, promi-nence, who were very compllmetary to him on his work, and altogether he returns well satisfied with his experience ex-perience In New York hospitals, |
