Show FUNERAL SERVICES OF J. N. HANSEN AT NEWTON. Nkwton, Jan. 18. The funeral service ser-vice over the rcmalnsof J. N. Hansen, our worthy citizen and postmaster who died a few days before, was held in the meeting house on Saturday, Jan. l.'l. Brother Hansen was a splendid splen-did man In every sense of tho word," and tho various speakers could oiler no word but that which was a good testimony to his character. ' The speakers on this occasion were Amos Clarke, M. P. Peterson, John E. Orlllln. and Illshop M. C. Rlgby, and their every woid was one of praise. During the service a quartette quar-tette composed of Miss Ida Jenkins, Mn. Elizabeth Funk, Mrs. Annie F. lllgby and Amos Clarko sang 'most beautifully. L. Jones, and George and Amos Clarke also sang a trio in a most affecting way, Ilro. Hansen Joined the church in Denmark and emigrated to Utah in 1875, dying at the ago of 03 In full faith in the gospel. He was an active Sunday school worker' from the time our Sunday School was tlrst organized and in all ward work he was a most useful man. The casket containing the deceased was literally buried In floral offerings presented by friends and relatives, and the Sunday school. Uio. Hansen lived a good life and has gone to a good reward.
