Show Mine at Franklin. Goal Is Scarce. There's some Sick- r&sti ncss and Good Xmas Trade ' Fhanklin, Dec. 21,-Coal Is still a Tcry scarce artlclo In Franklin. Once In awhile a car Is brought In but this Is soon grabbed up. We live In hope that the scarcity will soon become be-come a thing of the past. Buisness seems to bo picking up at present and Christmas goods are going go-ing pretty briskly. We do hope that nollttle boy or girl will' be disappointed and havotlio heart ache because Santa Claus did not put something In their stockings. 1 can assure you Mr. Editor. I wish I was able, 1 would be Santa Claus this Christmas and no child should go without something In their stockings that would make their llttlo hearts glad. 1 do hope that all parents will think of this and remem-ber remem-ber when they were children, Cod ' bless overy father and mother that labors for the Happiness and welfare of their children. Wo have some sickness here. Sister Emmanettt N. Lewis is sick and has been very bad, She had to nave an ;j Aeration portormed upon her. Drs. f JjMamson and States, assisted by Dr. Emery of Preston, performed the operation very skillfully and Sister Lewis Is getting along as well as can expected, considering what she had to pass through. Wchayoa literary-debating society In Franklin and a good many of our young people have Joined It. They meet every Wednesday night' add have a very Interesting time. TJie last subject was, "Resolved, that the Government of the United Slates ought to control the railroads In the United States." The affirmative won. We arc pleased to sco the young men of Franklin enjoying their time thus, rattier than spending their nights in frivolity. Beech and Myron and William Cornish hayc a good mine up Crooked canyon that promises to be very rich In copper, gold and sliver.
