John Terrill, a farmer living near Petroleum, Indiana, killed his son-in- law, Melvine Wolfe, firing the charges of both barrels of a shotgun into Wolfe's head as he lay on an operating operat-ing table. The operation was compelled com-pelled by a gunshot wound inflicted by Terrill a short time before. Wolfe had deserted his wife and baby and a suit was brought to compel com-pel him to support them.
