Show THE KARREXCASE Unsavory Affair Being Unraveled in District Court. On Thursday last was begun j the hearing of a most un- savory case in the First di-triet , court. It is entitled Talitha D.J Karren vs Fred Karren, and the1 plaintiff sues to recover the custody cus-tody of her three children and a portion of her former husband's property. , Attorneys Nathan lanuer ana J. 11 imuaii Ogden represented the plaintiff! and Attorneys J. Z Stewart, Jr.,i and George Q. Rich appear for I the defense - " , t I Mrs.. Karren was the onlyj witness on the stand Thursday" afternoon, and her testimony was iofa most unsavory character. I She testified that her husband, the defendant, went on a a mission mis-sion two years ago and that dur- ing his absence she committed j adultery. After he returned she I gave birth to an il'egitimate I child. However, when he return- ed she alleges that he lived wirn ;,v her, and testified as to distinct' occasions of sexual intercourse. ,jj She further stated that shortly L after they began to live together, ji' i he prevailed upon her to consent ! to a divorce, claiming he co.ild U ''thereby obtain some property ,j Ifrom his father; that the divorce'J i was obtained, and he thercariont i married another. - . I A" large number of wifnsses were examined for the plaintiu, , and corroborated Mrs. Karren as to many facts. Wm Homer, constable, testified testi-fied for the defense that he served ser-ved the summons for divorce on Mrs. Karren. Mrs Martha Karren and Miss Vila Karren testified that clefend-I clefend-I ant did not live with plaintiff after af-ter his return from his mission, and court adjourned until today. |
