Show Interurban Road Will Go To Saratoga Springs llraneh Mac Will He Hull! Seen As the Main Line Is Completed. Present W. C. Orem of the Salt l.nko ft Utah railroad, caino to Lehi Monday, where ho was met by an nuto-nioblli nuto-nioblli and lsdled tho Saratoga Springs. After making a most thorough thor-ough inspection of tho resort and Its surroundings, he pronounced It to be the best natural resort that he had j ever seen. The slt was made at tho Instigation r the new owners of Saratoga, who are aflding many attractions to the iesort, ami will build a summer colony col-ony there and ultimately lay out a city. The new ownera recognize that .ettor transportation must bo secured and It was with this Idea In view that .Mr. Urem made the trip. Ho says that his company will havo Its hands full for some time in extending tho line to Paysoii, but that Just as soon .is the main line Is completed a branch o .Saratoga will bo built. Whether It will be built from Klrkhnin and go down the west side of Jordan Itlvcr or whether It will go directly from l.ehl will havo to be determined by engineers when tho time coins. The new farming dlstilct west of Jordan Itlvcr Is opening so rapidly that this I onto appears to be the most feasible. An argument that appeals to the Orem people In favor of building the road to Saratoga Is the rapid development develop-ment of the west side of the lake The company realizes that It must touch tho lake at some point to get this growing trade. With a connection nt Saratoga there would be a boat service serv-ice put on between Moslda and Intermediate Inter-mediate points until business would Justify extending the line on south In the meantime the Saratoga people peo-ple havo graded the road from the county road to the springs, and many 1 people are visiting the resort in automobiles, auto-mobiles, carriages and on hayracks. Hayrack parties are becoming very popular, several of them going over there dally. One of Mr. Orem'B objects In vlslt-g vlslt-g the resort now was to look it over with the Idea of running excursions over his road to tho resort tills summer. sum-mer. Ho will make desirable rates provided transportation facilities are nrrnnged for getting the people over there Manager George O. Itelf of the Hotel Utah accompanied Mr. Orem on the trip. o |
