Berth Goss Beck Dowry Suit - The most sensational testimony gly-en gly-en in the dowry suit of Bertha Goss Beck against the , Utah-Idaho Sugar company and others was that of Mrs. Matilda Goss Beck, sister of the plaintiff plain-tiff and plural. wife of.the late John Beck. " - . Mrs. Beck testified that John Beck told her.' a few days preceding his death that he had not made Bertha Goss Beck his legal wife and would not do so. Other testimony was adduced to show that Mrs. Bertha Goss Beck was generally known as tho wife of John Beck for a considerable period preceding pre-ceding his death. On this point Dr. Charles G. Plum-mer, Plum-mer, Kent Cobb and Mrs. Sophie Van Dyke, all of Salt Lake, were called to the witness stand in behalf of Mrs. Beck,. Dr. Plummer testified that Mrs. Bertha Beck was introduced to him in the De Golyer mansion by Mr. Beck as "my wife."
