Representative Representa-tive Hull, of Iowa, chairman of tho House military affairs committee, In an Interview on the Samoau question, Is quoted as saying; "This government will not undertake under-take to discredit our men thero unless It Is shown clearly that they are In the wrong. If Germany Insists In her present course, thcro may be war. I do not believe this administration will allow Germany to run this government, govern-ment, as she seems to be trying to do Just now. In my section of the country coun-try the feeling has been strong against Germany for six months. The people bcllevo that she was hostile to us In the war with Spain. The people aro In such temper that they will not permit any trilling or hedging on tho part of the United States If there should bo war, I do not belleve.that all the European Eu-ropean countries could or would stand against Great Ilrltaln and the United States." |
