(i Editor Bakkkr: Knowing your inter eat ill and labors for and in behalf of the city and people of Lehi, I ask your attention to an article that appeared in tho Salt Lake Ttibnno of July 20, 13P8, from its Lohi correspondent, and also your publication of tho following items as the result of an investigation in the matter refered to in said article. Tho article is hcatied, "An UnsavoryTown," and stating among other things that the livee of the peoplowora in danger on the streets at night, and the officers were in league with hoodlums, Ac. The incident that called forth such strong statements from the Tribune correspondent has since been investigated investi-gated and the parties dealt with . From tho examination of witnesses and state menla at the trial it appeared as follows : 1st. That a larger boy had struck a smaller boy and then went for a buggy rido with some girls. 2nd. That tho smaller boy bo btruek had friends who tried to halt the larger boy, his buggy and girls during tho ride, and who threw at him two eggs and ono handfull of fund; aimed in American, not Spanish, style. The flrat egg struck the buggy and scattered, as eggs will do, Tho second egg "struck tho larger boy under tho arm. Within 48 hours aftor thoocrnrance ths convicted ones were serving then' sentence. As to tho dangor of lives, &c referred to, all know that on that same evening sthero were .numbers of vehicles filled with boys and girls and other numbers on foot and otherwise, promenading our streets until un-til a late hour, but none other assults were made and no lives or anything else considered in danger, and nothing seemed wrong but (tho mental and physical virsion of tho Tribune's Lehi correspondent.
