I am satisfied I I have the faith and prayers of the Saime in my behalf. , 1 left my former field of labor, River-- eidc, and came to Los Angeles and from there to San Diego to hold our tonfer- -enco. There was some 10 Elders pie- i "j Bent and our worthy President and wife. V Wo arrived on the 24th at one and that - night we all went out on the street and '.t lieltl two rousing street meetings. After tho meetings the Saints had a ,sociable prepared in the hall bo we all met with them and their friendB and had eonga speeches and then the next thing was to supply the inner man and then came dancing. You tee wo have a variety. The next day we held our confeience, holding throe meetings. Tho Elders took up the time in two of tnem ana at night our" worthy president occupied the ' time. It was a time of rejoicing to us. ' , The next day we held ptiebthood meot- '' ing the seaston lasting from two un til six. We recieved Boine valuable instructions and were allotted to our fields of labor. I was called to labor in this place and it seemed very natural to get back in my old sto inpiiig ground as this seems like home to me; my old friends recieved mo kindly. Elder John Y. Smith is to labor with me which makes it more like home than ever. The day after our priesthood meeting wo'niadc up a party oi twenty-live nud hired a little launch nnd;went out on the ocean about seven miles to fish. After we got out on the water some of ' them began to get tired of their dinner t and 'started in to feed the fieh, There were some thirteen who were pretty sick and some of them said they were afraid they would die and others were afraid they -would not. We caught about '200 lbs offish, some wieghing as high ub 20 . lbs and none less than seven. This is tho'finest sport a man ever had. It , "waB my 6econd trip and I hope it will j a not bo my last. ' -wards, Messrs Hammer, Jacobson and Eft Hanson all of Whom were Elders and B .Saints. M i To-day all qf the Elders went down H . and had a bath in the ocean water and H ' to-morrow wo part for another six fl .. months which ia'liko leaving home and friends once more but such is life in fl Che far west. fl ' I can say that the work of tho Lord fl is gaining in this part of tho Lord's vin- fl yard and there are many honest souls fl here yet.
