Show There havo been several articles appealing of late in Utah papers referring to George Q. Cannon and n senntorship. We endorse every word lhat has been wiilten setting forth the fitness of that gentleman lo wear the senatorial toga. In sending him to the Sen-ate Sen-ate ihe legislature would do a great honor lo the people of Utah and for the gentleman himself il would demonstrate the significant fact that after the elapse of man years the people of Utah remember remem-ber howuneeiemoniously he was expelled from Congress not because be-cause he was unli tie to ihem in the least but for icasons which are, we hope, buiied with-the past forever. The high honor is due him and, if he will receive it, it should be given him. His long services and loyalty lo Utah and her people peo-ple speak in atone which receives a pleasing response from each heait. His qualifications aie equal to those possessed by any irentlemau in the land. His ad-dress ad-dress is very pleasing and graceful grace-ful making him very easy to approach, and as a politician he is one of the tight kind for he will neither sell himself nor the people of Utah to a goldbug. If this is booming Mr. Cannon, then let him boom and we'll try and do our part. |
