Show Eisteddfod. The Eisteddfod undevl nt Sauisli Fork on Friday night, thore whs about 2000 pcoplo who attended. Of tho prizes given Mr. John Davis leceived the prio for best poeiu. The Paysou Brass band was declared the winner, Spanish Fork coming sooond. In the chief choial competition the Salt l.ako chorus was awarded tho prise on merit, theie being no other contest, ant. Prizes in the male and child ie,s chorus went to Spanikh Fork. In the prize bag eontost Mrs. Ella Thomas of Spanish Fork received first prise, Miss E. J. Jones of Meithyr Pytlvil, SotUh Wales, being uwarded the secoud priae. Mrs. Istinos of this place won the prize for the beet leiulitiou of a Welsh bong. The lady is iu her sixty flnt year, and is the possessor ot n remarkably, remark-ably, sweet voice. Tho expense oi the Eisteddfod, Including In-cluding the prues and everything else, flguro up to nearly $1000. The receipts" of live sessions, it was learned amounted amount-ed to ?;206, which will leave about $300 that the committee will turn oer to the Seo field lclief fund. |
