Show Many Students Enter High School School- Contests Among the most attractive events carried out on the campus during High School Day were the contests in Music Art Domestic Science Physical cal Education and Domestic Art The Domestic Art contest consisted in making dust caps for which one hours hour's time was allowed Eight girls competed in n the contest which was won by Miss Mis Ethel Sharp of L L. D. D S S. S U. S U U. and Ruth Johnson of Ogden High received honorable mention Cora Thorne Thome of Springville High who sang two from Gounod's Faust received first prize in the vocal contest which was a gold medal and one years year's tuition The prize offered in the violin contest was won by Mary Parmley of Ogden High The prize is a gold medal and one years year's tuition The judges of the violin and voice contests were Prof v. v F F. F Stayner Miss Edna Evans and David Reese Mrs Mattie Read Evans Mrs Arvilla C. C Andelin and nd Miss Edna Evans judged the piano contest In the gymnastics contest three high schools entered classes of twenty pu pu- pils Tho Brigham City High school class under the direction of Mrs Geo Georgia gia Borg Johnson received the theaward theaward theaward award for this contest The others entered were Lehi and Ogden High schools Each class gave a twenty- twenty minute gymnasium drill which was well done in each case Mrs George Bacon of the Boston Gymnasium Normal school Miss Johnson of Logan and Miss Charlotte Stewart of the Salt Lake High school acted as judges |
