Show MANY entertained AT V T PARK A large crowd from kanab and Fre F re donla donta atte tided the banquet and grand ball given at VT park thursday evening june 4 by the Ass ocla ed civic clubs of oe southern utah and everyone present reports having en joyed the occasion immensely although several who returned to ranah kanah after the dance did not got get home until nearly morning and were very tired A splendid representation from ovary every town belonging to the or i L in the district was present the banquet was especially good as was every part rendered on the program pr 0 gram the tap and acrobatic dancing d by two little girls was clever cis an and d entertaining and showed extraordinary tra ability and training A spirit of hospitality good fe fellow lahip and well being pervaded every part ot of the evenings entertain maint the dance although lively was well conducted and orderly and was a credit bredl t to the lions ot of kanab who were acting as hosts of the occasion slon mr air 0 C nowman bowman arid and fred at F fowler wore were in charge and after welcoming g the guests and visitors mr bowman turned the balance of the program over to mr fred M fowler past president of the chanab kanab lions club mr air fowler introduced mr frank G martinez Martl nez president of the A C C who outlined the policy and achler ments of oe the club since its organization showing that through the cooperative efforts of the counties in the organization recognition was gained that seemed impossible before especially in in the road building program mr air E P of torrey wayne county was introduced and in a fe few w brief remarks expressed his appreciation of the work being dona by ibo thi associated civic clubs aali and out outlined linel a rood road from green river to wayno wayne Won wonderland dorland which would be of di distinct a advantage to southern utah people from a tourist point of view and that at a recent meeting with the emry emery county commissioners they were interested in such a road mr air will mace of cedar city who was representing mr air reed 11 gardner director from iron county stated that cedar was behind the tha A 0 C one hundred bundled per cent and that they were ivere sure much good would come from the efforts of the association mr air jockey hale of st george was the next speaker and said that st george were very much interested Ine rested in the work of the asso claton and that they were on hand and ready to give whatever support would be necessary to accomplish the work of the asso dated civic clubs mr air miller of myton utah was then introduced and said that it was known by the people of his district of 0 the association being in existence but was unable to tell why uinta county had not joined as he knew they had had an invitation to do so but he would he be glad to crry back to uinta county th the value evalue as he saw it of the organization the following visitors were present as guests mr air and mrs airs wilson lunt jack christenson Chrls tenson win mace dr parkinson and and parley dalley dailey ol of cedar city mr air and mrs E P mr air webster mr air and george W oberland and mr air eckersley clerk ot of wayne bounty all of wayno wayne mr air J E and J W jale ot of st george mr and mrs mra P 0 ala martinez rt ot of richfield mr air and mrs airs miller ot of blyton and benj cameron jr ot of panguitch Pan gultch field secretary ot of A C C the directors and their partners expressed thir deep appreciation for or the splendid entertainment provided for hem by the kanah lions club mr air and sirs mrs wm S blust and thir son woodruff gave evidence ot of their ability to ha bardle dlo a i large crowd and make them feel at home A meeting tor for the visiting members of the A C C ot of S U and tho the llona lions I 1 club of kanab was held the next morning friday june juna 6 where business of the organization was attended to the members ot of the associated civic clubs are some ot of the most progressive men ot of southern utah an iare alive to lo the needs ot of the most moat country they the are doing everything possible to improve Im proe re conditions here and to advertise advert tas Lse our scenic wonders the general public should give them their full aupp in every way vay so that the work thay are doing will not le hampele hammerel ham pere perel |
