Show i 1 THRESHERMEN OF UTAH TO BE REGISTERED Farmers Are Asked To Stack Grain . Properly And Allow No Waste In Threshing i A recent act on the part of State Food Administratrator, W. W. Armstrong. Arm-strong. Is that of requiring every threshing machine and combined harvester har-vester operator In Utah to register his threshing outfit with the State Food Administration before beginning operation. This has been made necessary In order to eliminate waste In threshing grain. It Is estimated that from one to ten per cent of the country's wheat crop is lost by careless operation and Inefficiency of the threshing machine. Figuring a five per cent loss on a wheat yield of seven million bushels In Utah, this would amount to three hundred uid fifty thousand bushels. 1 Inspectors are to be appointpd to assist the threshermen ef Utah In adjusting all difficulties which may occur In the threshing of grain. Farmers are urged to co-operate ;wlth the Food Administration and threshermen, an this Important matter, mat-ter, and see that the grain Is properly proper-ly harvested so that no waste will occur. Grain, to be In prime condition condi-tion for threshing should be dry and ripe, having been allowed" to remain In the stack practically three weeks. Mr. Armstrong has recently appointed ap-pointed M. 11. Greene, manager of the Salt Lake office of the Food Administration Admin-istration Grain Corporation, as direc-I direc-I tor of the Threshing Division for the Utah administration. Mr. Greene is very anxious to have reported to him any bad order machine, and other 1 matters which need his attention regarding re-garding the threshing of grain.
