When a student has been absent, ab-sent, he must obtain an admit from the office before he returns re-turns to his classes. General information pertaining pertain-ing to the opening of school at the Cedar Junior High School, including fees and a change in lunch room procedures were announced an-nounced this week by Arliss Jensen, principal. Ninth grade students will be required to pay a $10 book rental. rent-al. This fee is not chareed to seventh and eighth graders, he pointed out. The regular stu-dentbody stu-dentbody fee is $7.50 and a 50 cent physical education fee is charged. Other special fees include instrument in-strument rental, $10; and three insurance programs are available, avail-able, however, parents of students stu-dents may waive the insurance program it was Indicated. For those desiring yearbooks there will be a $3.50 fee. The yearbook money should be paid directly to Mr. Truman or members mem-bers of the yearbook staff during dur-ing the first week of school. Another An-other week during the year, in January, will be opened for yearbook payments. Individual projects in art, home economics, and industrial arts will be paid by the students, stu-dents, Jensen pointed out. On the opening day of school, Tuesday, Aug. 28 an orientation orienta-tion for all students will be held. Orientation for seventh graders will be held in the auditorium; eighth graders will meet in the boys gymnasium and ninth graders in the social studies area (gold room). Orientation is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. for all three grades. Principal Jensen indicated that letters are being sent to parents explaining opening school procedures and policies. If parents do not receive this letter, they should contact the school, he suggests. The lunch schedule will be somewhat different for Junior High students this year. There will be two 35 minute lunch periods with an optional extended ex-tended lunch period. One lunch period begins at 11:30 a.m. and ends at 12 noon. The second period begins at 12:15 and ends at 12:45. The extend-ed extend-ed lunch period begins at 11:30 a.m. and ends at 12:45 p.m. Students desiring the extended lunch period must come to the school office and obtain a form which will be signed by the parent or guardian and returned return-ed to thes chool.
