Show 0 THE ATHLETIC SITUATION In another column of this issue will be found the customary forecast of possibilities ties for a successful football season To some this forecast may seem stereotyped It may be felt that no assurance of success can can be had until the season is somewhat advanced We see no reason for anything but optimism however With such a strong squad and such effective coaching as asis asis asis is assured to us we possess a good opportunity opportunity opportunity to make a splendid record this fall Of course we have a very heavy schedule We will meet all of the strong Colorado schools Some will say sy that we weare weare weare are handicapped by the one year rule There is so some e truth in that Judging from past experience there will be men on the Freshman sq squad ad who would be of V Varsity arsi y timber if permitted to play The Colorado Colorado Colorado Colo Colo- rado schools are in the sae position how how- ever They recently adopted the year one-year rule and are probably handicapped thereby as much as we are We should have at least an even break with them and we need not fear the other teams on our schedule With th the loyal operation co-operation which the student body will wiIl give to our team we will play winning football We Weare are not placing all our attention on inter-collegiate inter athletics Mr Bolin will endeavor to reach every every student in the Uni Uni- We have never had a better opportunity opportunity opportunity for the physical betterment of the student body at large If any student fails to take advantage of the proffered aid he can blame no one but himself An especial effort is being made to reach the girls of the University They have a ar r I new athletic field on which to desport themselves themselves themselves them them- selves to their hearts' hearts content It is to be hoped that the girls will soon have a gymnasium gymnasium gymnasium gym gym- of their own with better facilities for physical education than they now enjoy o 0 |
