Roger Bent ley and Brian Johnson will have a week to get healthy for the Kanab game. "Hopefully this week will get the team organized once again and get ready for Kanab," said coach Doubek. Regulation time ended with the teams tied at 0-6. In the first overtime, Parowan and Milford both failed to move the ball and on fourth down both teams tried fieldgoals and both failed. The second overtime looked like the Rams would come out to be the victors. The Rams pushed Milford back to the 27 but ' once again a 15 yard penalty put the Tigers in field goal range but once again the kick failed. The Rams drove to the (i but the kick for the Rams went wide right. The third overtime period proved fatal for the Rams. Milford was third down and goal from the 13 when all of a sudden the Tiger tight end caught the Ball on a delay pattern and drove into the end zone. The extra point was good and the Tigers led 13 6. The Rams still had four downs to score. On the second play, Dave Hulet hit Dan Robinson on the five yardline but the Rams stalled on the next two plays and the final score ended up 13-6, Milford winning the game. They never gave up for the whole PAOKWAN - The Parowan Rams traveled to Milford this last Friday night and probably played the toughest game in the school's recent history. It took the Tigers three overtime periods to defeat the stubborn Rams 13-6. The game proved to be a defensive battle throughout the game. Most of the first quarter was played inside Milford's half of the field. Parouan's defense arose to the occasion by killing all of Milford's offensive possessions. Parowan drove to the 15 yard line with the Ram drive stopped by an interception. Milford did not have one first down in the first quarter while the Rams had two. The second quarter proved to be a sign of things to come, Milford drove from their 26 to the Ram's 5 when a fumble on fourth down was recovered by the Rams. The Rams drove from their 5 to Milford's 45 but the drive was stalled again. Pat Benson punted and with the aid of a penalty, the Tigers started on the 9 yardline. The Ram defense held the Tigers and got the ball on the Milford 10. Three plays later the Rams found themselves with a fourth down and goal from the 4. Dave Hulet hit Pat Benson on a quick slant and the touchdown. The Rams went for 2 points but the attempt failed but the Rams went in at half time with a 6-0 lead. The third quarter once again proved to be a defensive battle between the 20's. The Tigers did get their touchdown in the third period but was aided greatly by a 15 yard penalty that put the Tigers on the Ram 18. The Tigers tried a fake field goal and found a receiver to tie the game at 6-6. The extra point was no good as Parowan defense pressured the holder and the kick was never attempted. Once again the fourth period was fought between the 2()'s. The highlight of the period was a 67 pass from Dave Hulet to Rich Burton. The pass put the Rams on the Milford 16 but the Rams fumbled on fourth down. |
