Back row, 1 to r: Carla Dalley, Insutrctor; Geri Workman, Diane Stewart, Rhanee Humphries, Peggy Parker, Condra Lawrence, Ann Burris, Kathy Craddock, Lucy Capel, Instructor. 13 Nurses receive Caps and Pins Receiving caps and pins, and taking the "Florence Nightingale Oath," were the highlights of ceremonies held for the second graduating class of the Cooperative Nursing Program co-sponsored by Weber State College, Dixie College and Southern Utah State College. Thirteen nurses received caps and pins, along with a red rose as a traditional symbol of courage and love, during the proceedings. On May 25, the graduates received diplomas at the Vocational Graduation Ceremonies held at Southern Utah State College. Mrs. Leola Davidson, chairperson of the Nursing Department at Weber State, made the presentation of diplomas. Those graduating included: in-cluded: Mary Ann Allred, Cedar City; Ann Burris, Smithfield; Katherine Craddock, St. George; Norma Dooley, St. George; Rhanee Humphries, LaVerkin; Jill Johnson, St. George; Ann Kreitzer, St. George; Condra Lawrence, Cedar City; Peggy Parker, Monroe; Diane Stewart, Enterprise; Vickie Weight, Springville; Lila Whipple, Cedar City; Geri Workman, Cedar City. The Cooperative Nursing Program began as a one year program in 1974, and expanded to a two-year Associate Degree Nursing Program with the completion com-pletion of the new Dixie Medical Center in August, 1976. Current graduates are qualified to take the Licensing Examination for Registered Nurses. The program is directed by Fay Frahske, Coordinator, Coor-dinator, with Lucy Capel, Karla Dalley, Susan Kesler and Susan Gardner as instructors. in-structors. Instruction takes place on theSt. George and Cedar City campuses, with most of the on-the-job training taking place at the Dixie Medical Center in St. George and the Valley View Medical Center in Cedar City. |
