LOOKING BACK Did you know That there are 300 kinds of oak trees having different characteristics charac-teristics with the exception of having one common feature-the acorn. ALSO-Forest fires during the year 1925, burned over 30,000,000 acres of ground. - SO years ago There was a "Get-Together" gathering of the Chamber of Commerce, Com-merce, at which there were farmers, bankers, storekeepers, dentists, den-tists, real estate dealers, doctors, lawyers and quite a number of cattle and sheep men. This was a gathering in which all the men could get better acquainted, exchange ideas and be neighborly . 25 years ago Parowan City's new hydro-electric power plant was put into operation and was performing, its job in a very satisfactory manner. .The plant produced between 250 300 kilowatts because of low water conditions. The plant was under a two weeks experimental run after which the kinks would be ironed out and the plant ready for continued con-tinued operation. The plant operators were O. W. Orton and Frank Mortenson. 10 years ago The Cedar City Kiwanis Club took on the project of planting trees on the west and south sides of the Junior High School.
