Show Water content low in area snow pack Snow packs Cedar and Par-owan Par-owan Canyons are below average av-erage this year according to measurments made this past week by the Soil Conservation Service and the U. S. Forest Service. j Snow depths and water con-! con-! tents on all measured courses are below the same period last year and all are below the normals which have been established over a long period of time, the report indicates. Results of the individual measurements are as follows: .. Midway Vaiiey: 16 inches of snow with a water content of 4.1 inches. Average water content con-tent is 7.5 inches. At this same time in 1969 snow depth was measured at 40 inches with a water content of 10.6 inches. Webster's Flat: Snow, 12.3 inches, water 2.8 inches. In 1969 the snow pack of 30 inches inch-es contained 8.75 inches of water and the average for the course is 4.7 inches of water. Urie Flat: Contained 1.8 inches of water in 5.8 inches of snow. Last year snow depth was 20 inches and water content con-tent 4.7 inches. On this course, the average water content is 4.1 inches. Brian Head: At this course 30.2 inches of snow contained 6.9 inches of water. At the same time last year the snow depth was 46 inches with 10.1 inches of water. No long time average has been established on this course. Tall Falls: Snow d.epth was 25 inches with 4.6 inches of i water. In 1969 the snow pack was 32 inches with 8.1 water content. Birch Fiat: Water content was 2.9 inches in 14 inches of snow. Last year this course had 21 inches of snow with 5 inches of water. |
