Show Survey launched to determine capabilities of Utah hospitals , I960, only one hospital in Utah was providing a rather complete com-plete diagnostic and treatment service, Mr. Smart explained 'Today there are five metro-politan metro-politan hospitals that offer such service and others are gradually improving their capability to handle chronic respiratory disease", said Mr. Smart. "It is our desire that patients pa-tients in the rural areas of Utah receive as good care for their lung disease as do the urban patients", Mr. Smart added. ' A survey of Utah hospitals has been launched to ascertain their capability to serve patients pat-ients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease emphysema, emphy-sema, bronchitis, asthma, etc. The survey is being conducted by the Tuberculosis and Respiratory Re-spiratory Disease Association of Utah it was announced today to-day by Lyman F. Smart, President. Pres-ident. Also sponsoring the survey sur-vey is the Intermountain Regional Re-gional Medical Program. The survey is a prelude to programs designed to establish estab-lish pulmonary disease diagnostic diag-nostic and treatment facilities in several rural areas of Utah.
