Show Open House set to honor Josephine Smith on birthday ym-is urn ii ,1 J t r V V vv - JOSEPHINE SMITH The daughters of Mrs, Josephine Jose-phine Smith will honor her at an open house to observe her 83th birthday on Sunday, July 13. The event will be held at her home between the the hours of 4 and 7 p. m. and they invite all of her friends and neighbors to call on her at that time. Mrs. Smith was born in Panguitch July 13, 1884, to Mr. and Mrs. Alma Barney, and spent her early years there. She married Dolbort Smith of Summit and they lived there for a while then moved to Parowan where she has resided for 61 years. She has been a very active member of the LDS Church and worked in the auxiliary organizations, and especially in the Relief Society where she was a member of the quilting committee until released re-leased recenly because of ill health, and a visiting teacher teach-er for more than 30 years. Her children are Mrs. Elmer (Delia) Gurr, Mrs. Charles (Norma) Burton, Parowan, and Mrs. Alice Pryor, Cedar City. She also has 16 grandchildren grand-children and 18 great-grandchildren. |
