Cedar Ce-dar City High School wrestlers completed com-pleted their regular season as champions cham-pions of the southern division. They compete in the Region tourney this week. The Cedar High School Red-men Red-men won the southern division title in the regular league and of the ten participants five were given first place seedings from the southern division, according ac-cording to Coach John Pensis. The region tournament is a two-day affair with four sessions, ses-sions, two each day. Opening round bouts will be this afternoon after-noon at 1 p.m. with second session scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Friday the sessions will be duplicated with winners declared in the final sessions Friay evening. The Redmen will not have entries in the 98 pound and j the 105 pound classifications I but will compete in all other weights Pensis stated. From the Region tournament first and second place finishers will advance to the State Class A wrestling tournament to be hosted by defending Uintah High School at Vernal the following fol-lowing week. Following is a rundown of the Cedar City entrants: 112 ..Craig Rollo,. seeded first. He will meet Nick Wis-ner, Wis-ner, Milford in the opening round. Rollo has the best won loss record on the team this year. He has compiled a 8-0 league record and has an over-all record for the season of 160. 119 . Theron Heap, seeded fourth. His league record Is 3-5 and he is schedulde to meet Gary Teeples of Millard in the opening round. 126 Russell Robinson, seed. : . ed second he will meet Kay Monroe of Millard in the opening open-ing round. His league record Is 6-2. 132 Rick Lynch,, seeded first, he meets Phillip Bailey of Millard in the ' opening round. His league record stands at 7-1. His only ' loss came at the hands of Parowan a defeat that he later reversed. 138 Randy Robinson, seeded seed-ed second. His league record is 6-1-1 and he will meet Chris Eyre of Beaver In his first match. 145 Ed DeLong, seeded first will meet Kenneth Bent-ley Bent-ley of Parowan in the opening open-ing round. Delong's league record re-cord stands at 7-1. The loss was at the hands of Kanab while Delong was suspended from two matches. He later defeated his opponent from Kanab. 167 Curtis DeMille, seeded third will meet Kim Bailey of Milford in the opening round. His record is knotted with 4 wins and 4 losses. 185 Dan Humphreys seeded first will meet Tom Vance of Kanab in the opening round. Humphreys has a league record re-cord of 5-2-1. Humphreys lost to Parowan, then came back to pin his man from Parowan in their final match. He lost to Hurricane then came back to score a victory over that opponent op-ponent and tied in his first match against Dixie then defeated de-feated his Dixie opponent in their second outing. Unlimited Robert Archibald, Archi-bald, seeded second, he will meet Less Neilson of Millard in the opening round. His league lea-gue record this season stands at 6-2. |
