These three young coeds were chosen to reign over Homecoming activities at Southern Utah State College at the annual pageant held Monday evening. From left to right they are: Nancy Roberts, first runner-up; Sharon Briggs, queen, and Kathy Roberts, second runner-up. Sharon Briggs named SUSl Homecoming Queen for 1969 Selected Monday evening to reign over 1969-70 Southern Utah State College homecoming homecom-ing activities was Sharon Briggs, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Briggs, Salina. She was sponsored by the SUSC Thunderettes and is a freshman fresh-man student majoring in pharmacy. She was also selected sel-ected as "Miss Talent" in the contest for her modern jazz dance entitled "Night Eeat." First and second runners-up in the competition wore Kathy Roberts, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Spencer E. Roberts Cedar Ce-dar City, and Nancy Jane Roberts, Ro-berts, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Dale Roberts, Richfield. Rich-field. The two attendants are first cousins. Kathy Roberts also tied with Debi Leo Evans, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Evans, Bountiful, for the title of "Miss Beauty." Miss Evans was selected as "Miss Congeniality" Congen-iality" by the queen contestants. contest-ants. Patricia Barrick, daughter oi Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Barrick, Hurricane was named "Miss Charm." Susan Lamb, daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald C. Lamb, Las Vegas, Nov., won the title of "Miss Poise." Chosen as "Miss Poularity" by the Queens Pageant audience audi-ence was Dorothy Grimshaw, Cedar City. She is the daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Grimshaw, Grim-shaw, ' Dr. Eugene T. 8 Woolf was master of ceremonies for thi event. Special music was performed per-formed by Simon Bronson, Del-ta, Del-ta, and Kon Ward, Hacienda Heights Calif. Melinda Gale, Beaver, 1968-69 1968-69 homecoming queen was pa geant coordinator. The contest was arranged and directed by Brenda Bunting, Cedar City. The homecoming royalty will be honored at events conducted con-ducted during the week, climaxing cli-maxing Saturday with a parade par-ade at 10 a.m. on Cedar City's Main Street, football game against Western New Mexico at 1:30 p.m. in the Thunder-bird Thunder-bird Stadium, and Homecoming Homecom-ing Ball at 9 p.m. in the Student Stu-dent Center ballroom. The queen and attendants will greet students, faculty, alumni and special guests prior to the dance in the Student Stu-dent Center lounge. The annual' Alumni Banquet Ban-quet is scheduled for Saturday Satur-day at 6:30 p.m. in the ballroom. ball-room. Guest speaker will be Ellis Armstrong director of the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation.
