Show Services Honor Local Youth Killed in Action Funeral yervices honoring Randell L. Dockstader, 20, first known local fatality in the Vict Nam war, were conducted conduct-ed in the Kanarraville Ward LDS Chapel, Saturday, November Nov-ember 23. ' Dockstador, who was serving serv-ing as a forward observer for a unit of the Sixth Artillery, 'was killed November 7 near Pleiku. lie had served as a radio operator in Viet Nam since March, 19G8. He entered enter-ed military service in October, Octo-ber, 19G7. He was a son of Mrs. Faedona Abelhozen of Salt Laks City, the former Faedona Reeves Dockstader, and a grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Reeves of Kanarravilio. Kanarra-vilio. He spent most of his life in Kanarraville, graduated graduat-ed from Cedar High School and attended College of Southern South-ern Utah. The young man's body was recovered, returned to the United States and to his former for-mer residence for burial in the Kanarraville Cemetery. The services were conducted conduct-ed by Bishop J. F. Williams, and speakers were Evan Reeves, Dr. J. S. Prestwich, and Bp. Devon B. Reeves. A tribute tri-bute to the deceased was given giv-en by Opal Williams. Invocation Invo-cation was by Erwin Williams, benediction by William H. Es-plin, Es-plin, and dedication of the grave by Lorenzon H. Griffin. Prayer at the home prior to the services was by Boyd Reeves. The musical program included in-cluded two numbers, "I Know That My Redeemer Lives" and "I Need Thee Every Hour," by the Kanarraville Ward Singing Sing-ing Mothers, a piano solo, "Green Cathedral," by Boyd Reeves, and a vocal duet, "Smile Awhile," by Leota ,Sanders and Clata Smith. Preclude Pre-clude and postlude music was by Boyd Reeves. |
