Show Opening Message For 1967 Cleanup Campaign This is the opening message mes-sage from the ladies of the Parowan City Beautification Committee to get the ball rolling roll-ing for another campaign to make this community inviting invit-ing to those who live here as well as to those who will visit in the community during the coming season. Other appeals . from the committee will ap-1 pear from time to time as the season progresses. Dear Co-workers of 1967: Come let us anew our cleanup clean-up pursuit. Many of you have already taken advantage of the occasional occa-sional calm, sunny March days to rake leaves, pile up dead limbs and wind strewn weeds and papers into a cleared clear-ed are for safe burning. This is most heartening to your Beautification Committee. Commit-tee. We see good results from our four years of earnest effort ef-fort in "provoking" you to good works. However, we would like to see the 80 block captains we appointed in 1963, take a really active leadership leader-ship role this year in helping your block residents discuss and solve their particular landscape problems. Right now, the pressing job for all of us is to clean the rocks and debris from the ditch banks and street edges adjacent to our property. If we do this before the grass and weeds grow we'll be ready to MOW these problem areas and keep them tidy all summer. (Of course, this most emphatically empha-tically applies to the vacant lots you may own, within the city limits). Many townspeople townspeo-ple have tried this method of weed control and heartily recommend rec-ommend it. In our next article we will point out some of last year's commendable projects and also al-so mention a few of the hardworking hard-working leaders who are trying try-ing so earnestly, to match the landscape with our wonderful people; Our Goal: Parowan, the prettiest small town, U.S.A.! Will you help? |
