Show Girl Scouts Honor Fathers At Special Banquet Cedar City fathers were "King for a Day" Friday night when the Navajo District Girls Scouts featured their first annual Father-Daughter banquet Most mothers were left at home by the fireside for the occasion, while father had his night out with daughter. Those mothers who also doubled doub-led as Girl Scout leaders and committee women were relegated to the role of operating the kitchen, kitch-en, running the show and serving serv-ing the 120 guests. Some fathers sported two or more name tags, these being Increased In-creased by the number of daughters daugh-ters in attendance with each father. fath-er. A casual observer would have difficulty In determining which was the more proud father or daughter. , Mrs. Dorothy Swanson's West Cedar Brownie Troop was In charge of table decorations and other preparations, and Mrs. Sue Iverson's East Cedar Brownie troop was In charge of cleanup. Mrs. Donna Milne's Girl Scout Troop gave the flag ceremony. Mrs. Lucille Savage's troop gave the Girl Scout Laws; Mrs. II a Hobinson's troop gave the invocation. invo-cation. Mrs. Grace Leigh, district chairman, chair-man, was the Girl Scout hostess for the event. After-dinner entertainment consisted con-sisted of a film presented by the roret Service which featured Girl Scout outdoor activities on national forests. Cedar City fathers and daughters daugh-ters agreed that the new annual event was a huge success. |
