Show Cedar West Stake Dates Annual Dance Festival Over 300 dancers will participate partici-pate Tuesday, May 14 in the Cc-dar Cc-dar West Stake MIA dance festival fes-tival to be staged at the College of Southern Utah ficldhouse at 8 p. m. The event, one of the highlights high-lights of the MIA activities will culminate several months of preparation pre-paration by individual wards and will bring together dancers from all wards of the stake at the annual Stake Festival event. Elaborate costuming has been prepared for the event and It promises to be a full evening of entertainment. Everyone Is invited invit-ed to atend. No admission will be charged. One of the highlights of the festival, which .is themed by "Beyond the Blue Horizon." will be the all-girl dance with 108 young ladies alike in dresses of red, white and blue. The entrance and finale will be a colorful spectacle with all dancers participating One number called "Tropical Splendor," will be elaborately costumed. It is one of the specialty spe-cialty numbers and will Include six couples and three extra girls. A total of 71 folk and tquare dancers; all costumed In authentic authen-tic attire will perform several numbers. One group of "threesomes," "three-somes," will perform. The Lin-dy," Lin-dy," "Cha Cha." The threesomes will bp in groups of one boy and : two girls. The ballroom section consists of a foxtrot, a waltz Viennese, and the Tango. The festival is being prepared : under the dirction of the ward dance directors. They include: Second Ward, Douglas and Janet I Knell; Sixth Ward. Mark and I LaFawn Robinson; Seventh Ward, I Browning and Naomi Piatt; Eighth Ward, Gail and Audrey Duncan; Kanarra Ward, Cheryl ; Williams and Chesley Williams. 1 Cedar West Stake dance directors direc-tors are Robert and Helen Lin- i lord. |
