Show READING CLUB The opening session of the Reading Club was held June 10 in the form of a luncheon at the College of Southern Utah Student Center. 14 members of the club and a guest, Mrs JimParrish, were in attendan.-e. For" entertainment, enter-tainment, the ladies enjoyed readings by Sidney Hahne. One time Cedar City residents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lowe and their family stopped in Cedar City to visit with friends. They were enroute to Salt Lake City from their home in Hoi brook, Ariz. Mr. and Mrs. Morris Roberts, former residents now of Las Vegas, Ve-gas, were brief guests of Mr. and Mrs. Clifton L. Chatterley last week Mr. and Mrs. Warren Munford and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bauer have shared in a visit from Helen and Clesson Bauer and their two children of Montpelier, Ida., who were vacationing in southern Utah last week. Mr. and Mrs. Don Rogers have enjoyed a recent visit from Dr. and Mrs. K. L. Miller and their children of Louisville, Ky., who spent three days here. Enroute to Cedar City the Millers also visited vi-sited with relatives In Salt Lake City and Provo. Joining the Ro Sers and Miller families were Mr. and Mrs. Pratt Smith of Boulder City, Nev. The Smiths and Dr. and Mrs. Miller enjoyed a special social together at Cedar Breaks and the entire family enjoyed an outing at Zion National Park. Later, all were guests at the Pratt Smith residence In Boulder City. Besides family dinners in Boulder, the group also took a tour of the Hoover Dam whre Pratt Smith is employed. Joining Join-ing In the tour were Mr. and Mrs. Kay Smith of Cedar City. The Cedar City High School Class of 1960 will hold their first Five-Year Reunion Saturday, July 3rd. and Monday, July 5th. There will be a banquet beginning at 6:00 p. m. at the CSU Student Center followed by a dance at the new Cedar High School. All of the 1960 High School teachers have been Invited to attend. Monday from noon until 2:00 p. m., class members and their families will enjoy a canyon outing out-ing at Woods Ranch. Mrs. Lilly B. Gordon, mother of Major Dewltt Gordon of Cedar Ce-dar City, was visiting here from Alabama recently. After spending spend-ing one week In Utah which included in-cluded trips to several of the National Na-tional Parks, she returned home June 12. The former Sharon AJams, Mrs. Bobby K. Knell, Is visiting here from Las Vegas for two weeka with Mr. and Mrs. Oren Adams and Mr. nd Mrs. Kay Knell while her husband is with the National Guard camp at Fort Lewis. Captain and Mrs. John Bryce Woodbury and family, who recently re-cently returned from a three year tour of duty In Japan, stopped in Cedar City to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Reed Bradshaw and Mr. and Mrs. Rulan D. Woodbury and other relatives before going on to Salt Lake City to make their home. Captain Woodbury will be studying at the University of Utah. The Reed Bradshaw family has also enjoyed a visit from their daughter. Mrs. Ted Jolley and children of Antimony. Mrs. , Jolley gave birth to a baby boy l two weeks ago at the Valley View Medical Center and will remain I here with her parents for a short time. |
