Show CSU Displays Works Of Cedar City Artist An art exhibit featuring the works of Mary L. Bastow, College of Southern Utah art professor emeritus, is now on display in the CSU Library Lounge and will be available to the public until March 5. The exhibit will include twen- ty-five paintings by Miss Bastow who joined the CSU, then Branch Agricultural College, staff in 1929. Most of the paintings are privately owned and have been loaned to the college for the exhibit by residents of the area, according to Professor Thomas Leek, CSU art curator. In addition to twenty-five years of service to CSU, Miss Bastow taught in summer extension exten-sion programs in many southern Utah communities. The exhibit is but one event of a month-long series of activities planned in honor of Miss Bastow and the CSU Art Department. A lecture given Tuesday, Feb. 5 by Miss Bastow as the fourth In the Redwood Bench Lecture Series Ser-ies began the programs which will culminate with the Foun- -dcr's Day Assembly March 5 and an evening reception on that date honoring Miss Bastow. |
