Show Redmen Lose to Basic In Battle At Henderson Friday STATISTICS Cedar Basic First Downs 12 10 Rushing yardage 120 257 Passing yardage 106 63 Passes Completed 8-18 5-13 Passes Intercepted 1 2 Punts 4-40.1 3 31.5 Fumbles 0 0 Penalties against 25 50 For the second successive week the Cedar High School Redmen f&jtball team traveled to Nevada Ne-vada and suffered a loss. Friday night the Redmen took in on the chin 25 to 0 at the hands of the Basic Wolves of Henderson, Nev. The previous week the Redmen lost to Boulder City 33 to 13. Larry Elliott of the Wolves put on a one-man show in defeating de-feating the Cedar High team. He scored all four touchdowns for his team. Th Basic crew picked pick-ed up a total ot 257 yards rushing rush-ing and Elliott was credited with 227 of those yards in packing the ball 17 times. Elliott had touchdown runs of 80 yards, 78 yards and five yards. The Redmen outdid the Wolves in first downs, 12 to 10 and were) better in the air with a total of 106 yards, but they could not penetrate the end zone of the Basic crew to bit for pay dirt.j |
