Show School Board And Judicial Elections Nov. 6 All voters of Iron County will receive two ballots to mark when they enter the polls on uesday, Nov. 6 and a number of the citizens in the county will receive re-ceive a third ballot. The two extra ballots are both non-partisan and candidates listed list-ed do not represent either of the major political parties. The first ballot, for Judicial Judge of the Fifth District Court of Utah, will include the names of C. Nelson Day of Fillmore, incumbent in-cumbent and James P. McCune of Nephi. The election is to fill the District Dis-trict Judgeship that was vacated by Will L. Ilolt when retired this past year. Named to fill his unexpired term was Judgo Day of Fillmore. The apioint-ment apioint-ment by Governor George D. Clyde of Day to fill the vacancy, however, was orly until the next election and now those counties from Juab on t'ie North to Washington Wash-ington County on the south, will ave the responsibility or this non-po meal ballot to name a successor. The third ballot which many citizens of the county will receive re-ceive will be for the election of three school board members for four year terms. Precinct No. 1, which includes all voting districts of the county coun-ty outside of Parowan and Cedar City, will name asuccessor to Gene Butler, who did not file for reelection. They will mal;e a choice betwee.i Richard Nelson Nel-son of Cedar Valley and D. Ama-sa Ama-sa Stones of Paragonah. Districts Dis-tricts receiving the school board ballot with these two candidates listed will be Paragonah, Sum mit, Enoch, Kanarraville, New Castle, Richland, Modena, Beryl and Lund. Precinct No. 2 Includes the three voting districts In Parowan Paro-wan and listed on the ballot will be Glen L. Halterman and Amos C. Hatch. They are seeking seek-ing the position vacated by Ralph Orton. Only voters In Districts 1, 2, 3 and 4 those East of Main St. In Cedar City -will have an opportunity op-portunity to participate In the School Board election. Filling for the position was Royce Charr.her-lain Charr.her-lain and he will appear unopposed unop-posed on this special ballot. He Is seeking the position on the board which is currently held by Dr. J. S. Prestwich. School Board elections are for four year terms. |
