Show City Council Action Insures Water Supply Improvement At the first regular Octobe'r , meeting of the Parowan City Council on Monday evening, additional ad-ditional plans were made to Insure In-sure an adequate water supply for residents of the city in the future. During the past two summers sum-mers during hot. dry weather the local water supply has dropped drop-ped to a dangerous low several times, which has Indicated that an additional water supply and more storage facilities are needed. need-ed. As the principal source of the city supply of water comes from what is known as the Six Mile ! spring in second left hand can-yon, can-yon, action is being taken to get more of the water from that spring. into the canyon pipe line and improve the canyon line to get that supply to the storage tank. Also included in future plans to help the water supply is the Installation of an additional addi-tional storage tank clos to the present tank to catch the over flow from that tank during the night in time of high water and during cool weather. At these times the overflow from the storage stor-age tank Is considerable and much water is wasted At the present time trees and underbrush are being cleared away from the spring area at the Six Mile so that construction of a new headworks can be made which will take In all of the water wa-ter available there and put It Into the supply line. |
