The communities of Beaver, Paragonah, Parowan, Cedar City and Enterprise from southern Utah, and Caliente from Nevada Neva-da will be represented in the show that has variety, entertainment entertain-ment and exceptionally fine talent, tal-ent, according to James Hoyle, chairman of the event for the Kiwanis Ki-wanis Club. In addition to the show Sat-urdy Sat-urdy evening winners will advance ad-vance to a Southern Utah Talent Quest to be staged on Wednesday, Wednes-day, April 9. For this event w in ners of the Kiwanis Junior Talent Tal-ent Show and a similar show-sponsored show-sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of St. George will meet with several sev-eral numbers to be selected for appearance on television In Salt Lake City in the fall. Both shows will be at the CSU Auditorium and will begin at 8 p. m. Approximately 50 numbers were auditioned Saturday, Mar. 29 at the high school with 15 talent numbers selected to apcar on the final show, Hoyle pointed out. At the completion of Judging it was found that the show will present a variety of talents from youngsters between the ages of seven and 17. From Beaver will be a twirling act by Jolene Leasing Leas-ing and Evalyn Riley; Ileber Lund of Paragonah will play an accordion solo; Leon Cheever of Cedar City presents the story of "Little Red Riding Hood," including in-cluding all of the sound effects and ventriloquism thrown in for good measure. Joy Williams, 10 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Williams of Cedar City, presents a number which inelludes accordion accor-dion playing, vocal solo and a tap dance. Deanna Evans of Parowan will render a vocal solo and LaRue Perkins and Kathy Loer of Cedar City sing to the accompaniment of their guitars. A trumpet trio consisting of Judy Christensen, McNeil Boy-ter Boy-ter and Steve Yergensen of Cedar City put on a good show and David Randall, talented clarnet-ist clarnet-ist adds additional instrumental entertainment. Vanda Mitchell and Helen Stevens of Parowan in the upper up-per age bracket sing and play guitars, and Joe Topham, Para-gonah Para-gonah and Douglas Rowley, Parowan, Par-owan, both entries in the 1957 show, bring; another record pantomime pan-tomime to the stage. From Caliente, Nev., is Paul Mangum who sings and accompanies accom-panies himself on the electric guitar and Carol Lou Munford, popular soprano from Cedar City, will sing in the event.
