Show PARAGON AH NEWS NOTES By Nora Lund The beautiful snowstorm which fell last week end was certainly welcomed by this locality. The MIA was host at a lovely Christmas Party Tuesday evening eve-ning at the school auditorium where games, dancing, singing and refreshments were on the agenda. We regret omitting the names of our boys who are members of the B basketball squad at the P H S. They are: Eugene Rqbb, Max Robinson, Mike Lamoreaux and LaNell Topham. Mrs. Eda Thornton is spending spend-ing some time in Cedar City with her sister, Mrs. Eliza W. Owens. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Lowe and family of Beaver were guests Sunday of the James H. Ander-sons. Ander-sons. On Monday Mr. and Lewis Limb, Mrs. Robert Limb and Mrs. Joyce Boyter, all of Beaver, were at the Anderson home. Mr. and Mrs. Mario Stones, Mr. and Mrs. Milo Stones, and children of Cedar City, spent the week end here with their parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Amasa Stones. Roger Dalley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Dailey, had the misfortune to cut his hand in a freak bicycle accident at school last week. The wound required nine stitches to close. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Jones, with Mr. and Mrs. Albert Smith of Beaver, are on a vacation trip at the present time, which will take them to Phoenix, Ariz., on to Yuma, Ariz, to visit Mrs. Thel-ma Thel-ma Clow, In El Centro, Calif, with the Bob Lamoreauxs. It will be interesting for relatives and friends to know that Bob Is a member of the bishopric In El Centro now. The group will also visit In Henderson, Nev. before returning home. A group of relatives from here went to Parowan to help Isa Prothero celebrate her birthday. Mrs. Prothero is formerly of this 'community but makes her home now with her son-in-law and i daughter, Mr.- and Mrs. Homer Adams. Mrs. Nora Lund accompanied Lafe Hall, Ferra Lemmon and Mrs. Hilda Bringhurst of Hurricane Hurri-cane to Monroe Monday to attend at-tend the funeral of a cousin, Mrs. Minnie Hall Larsen. Mr. and Mrs. J. Leonard Top-ham Top-ham and Mrs. Eva Topham spent a few days In Salt Lake City on business. Joseph E. Ward of Parowan! was a stake visitor at Priesthood, meeting Sunday. Mrs. Bertha Topham accompa- nled her sister, Mrs. Lois Bryant to Mt. Pleasant during the week to see their parents who are in poor health there. They encountered encoun-tered severe snowstorms and blocked roads, which hampered their return trip somewhat. Mrs. Idella Robinson, Mr. and j Mrs. Gordon Manzione of Pan-guitch Pan-guitch and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Manzione of Beaver, Bea-ver, spent Saturday at the St. .George Temple. I Miss Barbara Ann Craff, Miss Linda Sampson and Roger Lowe of the PHS Seminary class gave fine talks Sunday In Church. Ar- dell Talbot. Jimmy Lamoreaux and Kenneth Topham of the Aar-onlc Aar-onlc Priesthood class also gave timely talks. Mrs. Wllma Lamoreaux Lamor-eaux played a piano solo as a 'special musical number. Mrs. Jasmine Gurr, Karen Boardman, Sonia -Adams and Mrs. Sampson Samp-son accompanied the young people peo-ple here for the services from Parowan. Mrs. Hannah Robinson returned return-ed late Saturday evening from Salt Lake City where she had spent a delightful week with her family members there. Mrs. and Mrs. Terry Lund, Mrs. Martha E. Barton and Mrs. Lula R. Bastlan traveled to St. George Thursday and enjoyed two sessions ses-sions at the temple Mrs. Hilda Bringhurst also accompanied them from Toquerville. Antone Robinson, grandson of Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Robinson and formerly of this place, son of Mrs. Mable Robinson of Salt Salt City is in the service at Ford Qrd, Calif. Recently Mrs. Robinson re-ceived re-ceived a letter from Antone's commanding officer pointing out some of Antone's fine qualities as follows: An outstanding trainee, train-ee, superior in appearance and complete understanding of general gen-eral orders and other military knowledge. He shows exceptional excep-tional soldierly qualities. |
