E Angeline Hoi Hol Holbrook brook in the title role of The Schoolmistress Schoolmistress again ain displayed the well known character character character char char- acter of her talent talent and and at times rose much above the amateur in her part r Miss Edna Harker as Peggy was at ather ather ather her best as usual with her rare artistic artistic artistic artis artis- tic ability in that characteristically Edna Ha Edna Harker ker style Miss Driggs read her lines in l Rankling Rank Rank- ling giving it almost a perfect rend rend- ering Misses Anna Hatch Mabel Harker and Lulu Trane took the part of the school girls and Miss Miss' Lylia Knudson took the part of the servant with pleasing and satisfactory satisfactory satisfactory tory efie effects ts Leroy Sanders as the Hon Vere Veres s f. made much the best appearance appearance appearance ap ap- he has ever made in his efforts during the history of the club He displayed very good stage presence presence presence pres pres- ence and seemed to fit well into the character Claude Richards made an excellent old admiral and while some thought he lacked a little in spirit others considered this a good portion portio of his of the conception old sea cap cap- tain Harold Goff as the naval cadet also did excellently appearing quite at home in the character Elbert Thomas as the servant showed marked marked marked mark mark- ed ability asa comedian in his original portrayal of the part Mr Trapp's part of the German author perhaps could not have been done better by an amateur and Mr Dunn did surprisingly surprisingly surprisingly well for his first appearance as the lieutenant The parts of John Condie and Will Miffin were accept accept- able TO GIVE ANOTHER PLAY At a meeting of the club last week it was decided to put on a new play some time in the spring Upon the resignation of Mr Sanders as president president president dent of the club as he has withdrawn from the institution Hon Miss E.
