Show NEWS FROM PARAGONAH Mrs. Hilma Lamoreaux Mrs. Sarah R. (Sadie) Stones will be observing her 80th birthday birth-day anniversary on August i'Z and family members are arranging arrang-ing an open house celebration in her honor to be held Sunday, Aug. 9th. All friends and relatives rela-tives are invited to call at the home of Mrs. Lila Stones between be-tween the hours of 3:30 and 7:30 p. m. They request that there be no gifts. Walter Talbot is one of the fortunate for-tunate ones to be on a tour to the Worlds Fair at the present time. He left with the group from Parowan on July 25th. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Talbot and small son of Salt Lake City arrived ar-rived here Friday to spend some time visiting with the Orson Tal-bots. Tal-bots. Mrs. Keva Matheson, Mrs. Myrle Walker and Mrs. Ivy Skou-gaard, Skou-gaard, all of Cedar City were here Thursday of last week to spend the day with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. K. Doyle Robinson. The Monet family, who were left homeless in the recent fire in Paragonah, returned to town Saturday and are getting established estab-lished in the Lewis Prothero house which had been partially prepared for them immediately following the fire. Mrs. Alice Robinson was hospitalized hos-pitalized in Cedar City over the week end for medical treatment. She was well enough to return home Monday. Paragonah had another fire score on Wednesday of last week when a large truck and trailer came into town with the trailer load of baled hay blazing. It was stopped on Main Street immediately imme-diately north of the Topham Service Ser-vice Station and the Parowan Fire Department was summoned to put out the fire. Traffic was rerouted for a time until the fire was under control. The damage was confined to the trailer load. Miss Vickl Lee Robinson of Og-den Og-den arrived here Friday to spend the week end with relatives and friends here and in Parowan and to attend the F.obert Dalley missionary testimonial Sunday. Wendy Robinson, daughter of Bishop and Mrs. Boyd Robinson suffered two breaks in her left arm Friday evening when she fell from a bicycle. Mrs. Joe Robinson is here from Colorado visiting with his sisters, sis-ters, Mrs. Sarah Stones and Mrs. Lula Bastian. He accompanied them here last week when they returned from a trip to Colorado. Gilbert Robinson and his son j Max traveled to Salt Lake City Tuesday of last week in order for Bert to see a specialist. i Mrs. Mary Brinkerhoff of Mesa, J Ariz., is spending a few days i here with her sister, Mrs. Eliza- beth Maxwell. The Primary Lihoma girls held their annual Lihoma party Thursday. Merrihand graduation exercises were held In addition to advancement ceremonies and a mother and daughter party. The group numbered 22 girls, mothers and officers. Mrs. Idella Robinson celebrated celebrat-ed her birthday anniversary Saturday Sa-turday by having all available members of her family together. Revere Robinson family group traveled to Duck Creek where a birthday celebration was held for Cluff Jolley. Mr. Jolley's borthe and sisters and their families also attended at-tended the celebration. Mr. and Mrs. James L. Maxwell Max-well of Glendale were Thursday Thurs-day visitors at the Wilson Lund home. Mrs. Olive Maxwell of Cedar City spent Sunday here taking care of her mother-in-law, Mrs. Elizabeth Maxwell. Mrs. Mallnda Jolley and Mrs. Emma Keele were here from Ce-dar Ce-dar City Saturday to visit with the Wilson Lunds and Mrs. Elizabeth Eliz-abeth Maxwell. Mrs. Bertha Topham enjoyed having members of her family with her last wr k. Mr. and Mrs. Ervln Stevens of Salt Lake City visited with her Tuesday. They were here to attend the funeral for Al Matheson In Summit Mr. and Mrs. Tracy Blood and Mr. and Mrs. Ervln Brunson of Cedar City Joined Mrs. Topham ar.d Mr. and Mrs. Stevens for a pleasant visit at the Topham home Tuesday Tues-day evening. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Lund Join- ed family members at Duck Creek Sunday to spend the day. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Armbrust and family of Boulder City were there as were Mr. and Mrs. J. Lamar Smith of Cedar City and the Heber Lund family of Parowan. Paro-wan. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas A. Robinson Robin-son entertained Thursday evening even-ing in honor of their grandson, Bill Evans and his family of Syracuse, Sy-racuse, New York, who are vacationing vaca-tioning in the area. Included in the group were Mr. and Mrs. Bill Evans and sons Bruce and David, Mr. and Mrs. J. Lowell Evans and son Kim and Mr. and Mrs. Tom Evans of Parowan. Mrs. May Sant and sons Lyle and Lloyd and daughter Linda arrived here from Salt Lake City Saturday to spend some time with the William Williamsons and Mrs. Anna R. Williamson. Mrs. Zelma Robb left for El Cajon, Calif., Sunday to spend some time with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Stevens and their family. Some 30 Paragonah people participated par-ticipated in the MIA road show presented last week. They traveled tra-veled to Enoch and Parowan to present their version of a modern "Old King Cole." |
