Show Parowan City Council Considers 1965-66 Budget, Sets Hearing At the meeting of the Parowan City Council on June 15 a tentative tenta-tive budget for the operation of Parowan City from July 1, 1965 to June 30, 1966 was given study, according to Mayor Osmer Niel-son. Niel-son. After spending much of the time at the meeting considering the needs of the various departments, depart-ments, with recommendations, a public hearing on the proposed budget was set for Monday, June 28 at the city office. City Councilman Bryce Adams was instructed to meet with the Red Hill Wranglers, local riding club, to discuss a beautifica-tion beautifica-tion program at the Parowan Fair Grounds, Including the race track and rodeo grounds. The Wranglers operate the fa-citilies fa-citilies there under a lease agreement agree-ment that doesnot prevent other oth-er organizations from using them, but take responsibility for Improvements Im-provements made there. Adams will work with the officers of the riding club in formulating plans for a program to make that area more attractive to local residents as well as the hundreds of outside out-side people who gather there for the various meets sponsored by the club as well as the Iron County Coun-ty Fair Committee. Robert Miller, new manager of the Liquor Agency in Parowan, was granted a license to sell beer at the store, by the action of the council. Miller took over the lo-can lo-can liquor dispensing agency j from La Mar Jenson, and it is now located on Main Street In I the building which formerly housed Miriams Style Shop, and owned by J. W. Moore. |
