Show Lions Set Scholarship At Parowan High, Honor Ea gle Scouts The Tarowan Lions Club met for their regular meeting at the Parowan Cafe Thursday evening, Jan. 8 with representatives from both the Cedar City and Escal-ante Escal-ante Valley club attending as guests. The members held a discussion on the upcoming Minstrel Show which the club will present, probably prob-ably at an April date. The club will present a scholarship schol-arship for the first time this year to a graduate of the Parowan Paro-wan High School and John Wilson Wil-son was named as chairman of this project to work with the high school faculty in making final arrangements for selecting the recipient of thi award. It will be presented to a senior student stu-dent of the school for study at College of Southern Utah. The club enjoyed a fine musical musi-cal program presented by a group of Polka Players from the Parowan High, called the "Hungry "Hun-gry Five". They were Dewey Top-ham Top-ham on trumpet, Gary Jenson, trombone, Steve DeMille, tuba, and Scott Potter and Leslie Hu-let, Hu-let, clarinet, and were directed by Robert Potter, high school music mu-sic instructor. The next meeting will be held Feb. 11 at the Old Rock Church and in keeping with National Boy Scout Week the club will honor all Eagle Scouts from the Brian Head District Lion President Presi-dent Glen Halterman lists the honored guests as Randy Grim-shaw, Grim-shaw, Jay Grimshaw, Mike Grim-shaw, Grim-shaw, Vern Grimshaw, Wayne Grimshaw, Enoch, and Carl Banks, Ramon Banks, Elliot Hulet Hu-let Leslie Hulet, Mahlon Dalley, Mike Adams, Kenneth Watson, Jud Hendrickaon, Hal Wheatley, Glen Robinson and Wayne Robinson, Rob-inson, Parowan. |
