Show NEWCASTLE NEWS NOTES I By Norma Chrlstensen Red shirts and hats are the order of the day. There are deer hunters in town by the dozens. There are also deer camps all the way up the canyon. Friends cf Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Chrlstensen here for the hunt are Dr. E. L. Verdecla of Long Beach, Calif; Mr. and Mrs. Lee Bros-sard Bros-sard of Palos Verdes, Calif.; A. D. (Duke) Weaver, Gene and Troy Wisdom, all of San Francisco, Fran-cisco, Calif. Monday v.'z'nt Dr. jVerdcia, Mr. Weaver and Mr. iBrosshardt were hosts at a steak supper for their camp companions compan-ions and wives held at Walt's Dinette. Those attending were Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Chrlstensen, Mr, and Mrs. Russell Chrlstensen, Chrlsten-sen, Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Hulet, Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Hulet, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Hulet, Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Chrlstensen and Mr. and Mrs. Warren Piatt Allen Hart and a friend fromj Redding, Calif., were here for the hunt, and to visit his folks, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Hart and his brothers and their families. Veldon Sorensen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mont So,'?nsen, had a painful accident last week at school. He "balled out of a swing" and fell and broke both arms Just above the wrists. Sunday visitors at 'the Stirling Tullis home was their daughter Cleo, who Is teaching school In Cedar City, and her friend, Blaine Applegate, also of Cedar City. Mrs. Albert Land and Mrs. Edna Bundy and three children all cf St. George were visitors last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Hulet. Visitors In Sacrament meeting Sunday were Elder Cllne Campbell Camp-bell and his parents from St. George. Elder Campbell just recently re-cently returned from an LDS mission to Korea and his remarks and films were very Interesting to everyone. Mr. and Mrs. Stirling Tullis attended the Genealogical convention con-vention Sunday In SL George. La Von Phillips of Panaca, Nev. and Grover Swallow of Pioche, Nev., Stake Sunday School Superintendents, Sup-erintendents, were visitors Sunday Sun-day morning in the Newcastle Ward. Mrs. Norma Thomas and four youngsters of Enterprise, were week end visitors at the home of her folks, Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Chrlstensen, while her husband, Darwin, was on the deer hunt Mont Sorenson traveled to Alton Al-ton and Orderville last week to Join in the hunt with some of friends and family there. He took his two youngest children, Janlel and Ronnie, to stay with their grandparents while he was there. Mrs. Delora Hunt and children of Cedar City were visitors last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Piatt. |
