Show Iron County Economic Statistics Released I Statistics comparing Iron Coun-ty Coun-ty and all other counties of the state In nearly every phase of economic life are now available In the recently released publication publi-cation "A Statistical Review of Utah's Economy," compiled and published by the Bureau of Economic Eco-nomic and Business Research, University of Utah. The volume represents one of the most comprehensive com-prehensive compilations ever made of historical and up-to-date data oo Utah. Included among these statistics statis-tics are such things as the following: fol-lowing: Iron County's population as of April 1, 1960 was 10.795. In 1940 this figure was 8,331. In 1958 there were 288 births In the county. The average farm size In Iron County In 1880 was 55 acres. By 1954 this figure had grown to 13289 acres. Mineral production In the county In 1951 was vaued at $10.3 million; In .1958 it had Increased to $23.4 million. The review was compiled by the University of Utah for the express ex-press purpose of aiding government govern-ment and business leaders, teachers; researchers and students stu-dents who are Interested in obtaining ob-taining both general and detailed detail-ed statistics on the Utah economy. |
